Throughout my life I’ve searched to understand why. If I can figure out the why, then I can somehow prevent the pain of life from reoccurring. The pain, the hurt and the heartache of life can scatter my thoughts. They become lost in a sense. I begin searching through time to find some sort of reason why it all happened to be. But if finding the reason why is only to understand life then I’ve missed the point.
The reason why is never the answer.
Sure it helps the mind make sense of it all, but it leaves an ache in my heart. Knowledge of the why leaves me stranded in my own understanding. The knowledge of the why can only breathe life when it is transformed into wisdom. When it is applied in the steps of my faith.
The Bible says that wisdom is more precious than that of rubies. Sometimes in life the wisdom I’ve searched for and found can become scattered in the blink of an eye.
Scattered rubies, how life can feel at times.
It’s as if I’ve been given this treasure in life, a treasure of rubies. But when life happens faster than I can keep up, I lose them. My emotional state becomes scattered. It is as if I held the treasure in my hand open to the world and tripped over life. Pain then scatters the rubies faster than I found them. I experience pain in things I treasured so dear; health, security, love, relationship, purpose…they all become scattered thoughts.
Scattered rubies…only to be gathered again as I spend time with the Creator of heaven and earth. My search becomes complete when I find the author of the story. God leads me to gather the rubies that life scatters. God leads me to gather the treasures of wisdom, not to know the why…but to know his son. Scattered rubies are gathered by the heart not the mind. Wisdom is experiencing life in knowing the author of our story. Jesus Christ. ❤️
Proverbs 3:13-15
13
Blessed are those who find wisdom,
those who gain understanding,
14
for she is more profitable than silver
and yields better returns than gold.
15
She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom. Thomas Jefferson
